It is with regret that Dr Markus Helfert has had to step down from the position of Academic Convenor in the IQ Network. Ironically, the reason for his decision is that there is a lot of research being done in Ireland the field of Information Quality and he is now too busy to devote enough time to his role with the IQ Network. He remains on as a member and assures us he will support the IQ Network and IAIDQ in our endeavours through 2008 and beyond. While Dr Helfert's departure from the Steering Committee is unfortunate, it creates an opportunity for us to shake up our organising team with some fresh blood and new ideas.
The IQ Network Organising Committee is a semi formal structure, with only a few formal positions. People getting involved can opt to take on roles relevant to their skills, interests and avaiable time. The current 'formal' positions we would like to fill are: - Academic Convenor (must be a lecturer or researcher in an Irish 3rd level insitution with a specific interest in Quality Management applied to Information)
- Publicity Officer
- Events Co-ordinator
Each of these positions can be filled by more than one person ('co-officerships') to ensure balance between IQ Network and 'day job' activities.
Other positions may be created if a member wants to contribute in a specific context (for example, if you have design skills we could make you a Brand Manager). Interested parties should email
