World Quality Day took place yesterday, 8th November. To celebrate the day the IQ Network, Irish Computer Society and the IAIDQ hosted a 'Jamboree' both in physical locations and on-line to let people share their thoughts and opinions on the need for "Innovation and Care" in Information Quality. "Innovation and Care" is the theme for European Quality Week, which runs for the rest of this week. People logged in from Dublin and the UK for the event, and a number of people sent their apologies that they couldn't make it from as far afield as South Africa and the United States. The presentation that formed the basis of the discussion will be posted here in the coming days (as ever it is on another laptop).
The IQ Network wasn't the only group of IAIDQ members who chose to do something for World Quality day. Our colleagues in South Africa also joined in and circulated an article on Information Quality to media and businesses in South Africa. This was based on a template article provided by the IAIDQ. In Ireland, we had an article published in the November edition of Running Your Business magazine, the publication of the Small Firms Association. Work now starts on setting some targets for what we want to do for World Quality Day 2008 - that's November 13th!! |
