A snapshot of activitity on www.iqnetwork.org since the updated site went live in September of last year makes interesting reading. Site visits climbed dramatically since the end of last year and show a strong upward trend (although we still don't have enough data to decide if this is a stable process or not).
"The use of a CMS system - in this case Joomla- and the investment of time and effort to keep content fresh and refreshed and to tweak our search engine listings, combined with our activity in the 'off-line' world have contributed to the trends in the usage of the IQ Network site. We intend to keep working on this approach to ensure maximum value to our members, registered site users and visitors", says Daragh O Brien (IQ Network Convenor). While search engine bots might skew the overall reporting (and this data does require further analysis to ensure quality of information), the presence of search engines on the site on a regular basis is evidence that the work that is being done to keep content on the site up to date is valuable in terms of raising the profile of the IQ Network and our parent organisations the ICS and the IAIDQ. Big in Japan(?)One interesting statistic is the number of hits we have had from domains with a .jp extension - that's Japan to those who don't know. Since September, we have had a constant hit rate from Japan that has jumped significantly in the last month or so. |
